Introducing O/D Analysis V2
O/D Analysis V2 is the next major version of the product.
Through the API you get it by sending "analysisVersion": 2 in the body of a
Flow Matrix or
Selected Link creation request.
O/D Analysis V1 and O/D Analysis V2 are available in parallel during the rollout. V1 will be deprecated at a later stage, with advance notice.
Flow Matrix
Changelog:
- Normalized probe counts. A version 2 analysis normalizes its counts by proportional scaling, so every reported value is a share of one result rather than a number of trips. These values are not directly comparable with the trip counts reported by version 1. See Normalized probe counts.
- One universal time condition. The separate time-related conditions have been consolidated into a single condition that counts every trip passing the observation location within the selected time window. It is additive: 100 trips for 8:00 to 9:00 and 100 trips for 9:00 to 10:00 give 200 trips for 8:00 to 10:00. See Time range format.
Selected Link
Changelog:
- Traffic patterns inside a region. A Polygon link now also reports the traffic within the region itself, as a third result direction. See Analysis version 2.
- Enhanced metrics. Average travel time, traveled distance per path, and traffic volume can now be requested for every node of the result. See Enhanced metrics.
- Traffic volume. The reported volume is a model estimate built on ground truth data. It is currently limited to 8 countries, with more planned.
- Confidence intervals and margin of error. Result reliability is now expressed with confidence intervals and margin-of-error indicators instead of the number of observed trips, which is no longer part of the result. See Confidence Intervals Methodology.
Maps
Changelog:
- TomTom Orbis Maps are the only maps available in the V2 part of the product. See Available maps.
